7 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday
Overview
Throughout our 8-day safari and beach holiday in Tanzania, we get to experience the finest that the country has to offer. We make our way to Tarangire National Park, which is well-known for the elephant herds and Baobab trees that can be seen there. We also visit the Ngorongoro Crater, which is not only one of the most breathtakingly magnificent settings in all of Tanzania but also the best site to watch the “Big Five.” After our safari, we will fly to Zanzibar, where we will be able to relax on the beaches of the Indian Ocean, which include warm turquoise waters and white sand.
ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Tarangire
You will be picked up at the airport by a representative of Friendly Africa Safaris and driven to your lodging in Arusha, where you will spend the night, take it easy, and get ready for the exciting experiences that lie ahead. The Ilboru Safari Lodge is an oasis of tranquility and natural splendor.
Day 2: Explore Tarangire National Park.
In the morning, your private safari guide will come and collect you from wherever you are staying in Arusha. On the way to Tarangire National Park, we passed through the Masai plains, which were covered in acacia trees and featured gentle undulating hills. When we are traveling at a rapid pace, we see a lot of Masai people dressed in their colorful attire wandering along the side of the road, riding bicycles, herding goats, and hauling donkey carts. Yet, in addition to its large numbers of elephants, Tarangire National Park is home to a wide variety of other creatures as well. From the open roof of our safari jeep, we explore the seasonal marshes, savanna, and life-giving Tarangire River, in the hopes of seeing a variety of species such as zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to mention a few. It is quite possible that we will observe leopards lazing about in the trees above us, or lions stalking their prey below us.
After our all-inclusive game drive, we make our way to one of our partner lodges in the middle of the price range, where we will have dinner in an elegant setting and a room that is large enough to meet both our comfort and our wild cat fantasies.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Rise to your feet and shine! This morning, at an early hour, we will be departing towards the verdant highlands that are protected within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Our objective for the morning is the illustrious Ngorongoro Crater, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered to be one of Africa’s seven natural marvels. After reaching the crater rim, we travel down the steep route that leads into the caldera to view a variety of animals, grasslands, birds, and a lake. The caldera is around 600 meters deep. There are around 25,000 different species of mammals that call the enormous volcano that collapsed their home. These mammals include the “Big Five,” spotted hyenas, and some of the area’s more than 500 bird species. After an extended game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, we will make our way back to your hotel in Karate for dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day 4: Traveling from Stone Town to Lake Manyara
Following breakfast, you will embark on the final leg of this incredible safari by making your way to Lake Manyara National Park. This park can be found 120 kilometers to the west of Arusha and is characterized by its compact size but rich biodiversity. The park is named after a modest salt lake that is located within it. There are about 500 different species of birds that make their home there, including thousands of flamingos. It floods and dries up throughout the year across a large portion of the park that it encompasses. As you make your way through the park, there is a good chance that you may come across monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and even lions as they relax in the woods. The park is famous for its diverse ecosystems, which include grassy plains, woodlands teeming with primates, and cliffs covered in baobab trees. Following lunch, you will make your way back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon in order to catch your departure to Zanzibar (Stone Town).
Day 5: Unwind in Zanzibar’s North Coast.
You’ll be escorted to Nungwi. Once upon a time, the big settlement located on the northernmost point of Zanzibar Island was well known as a location for the construction of dhows. Because of its stunning beach and magnificent sunsets, it has become a very popular tourist destination in recent years. As a direct consequence of this, you will find yourself in a situation in which the modern world and the past directly confront one another. Activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and other water sports are among the most popular things to do here. The reefs along the east coast, Mnemba Island, and the waters close to Tumbatu Island are the most popular places to dive while departing from Nungwi. Because of the local geography and the regularity of the tides in Nungwi, swimming is always an option here. There are a variety of activities offered, some of which include yoga, walking, and guided tours of the local village.
Day 6: Devote the entire day to relaxing on the beach.
Day 7: Departure and the morning is at your leisure. The trip we’ve been on comes to an end today.
Transportation to the airport or seaport in plenty of time for your trip back home or onwards, fully loaded with images and recollections of our enchanted journey.
