4 Days Selous Classic Safari Tour | Nyerere National Park Safari
Included in the price is a safari through the Selous game reserve that lasts for four days. Transportation to and from Dar es Salaam is provided. It is possible to take a boat ride, go on a game drive, and go on a walking safari while sleeping in a tented camp in the middle range of price at the Selous game reserve, which is about five hour’s drive from Dar es Salaam. A total of 50,000 square kilometers are protected under the Selous Game Reserve. The largest protected region in Africa, which is also one of the few places on the continent where people have had very little impact. The Selous is home to a large number of hunting dogs. In addition, the reserve is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, such as Miombo woods.
ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 1: Arrival
You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 8:00 in the morning, and after a brief introduction to the safari, you will be driven to the Selous game reserve, which is a journey of approximately six hours. After checking into the camp in the late afternoon, taking a short rest, and then departing for an evening boat trip, you will spend the night at the African safari camp. During the day, you will eat lunch while traveling.
Day 2: Explore Selous Safari Park
After breakfast, go on a game drive inside the park while enjoying a picnic lunch, and get ready to witness a wide range of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and hyenas, amongst others. A vast variety of birds will also be seen, in addition to stunning vistas featuring a varied topography that features wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher territory with magnificent views of mountains in the distance. You will have lunch and then take some time to relax in the afternoon, and then you will go on a wildlife drive before spending the night in an African safari camp.
Day 3: Game viewing by vehicle and on foot in the Selous Game Reserve
You should get up early and go for a walk in the Selous forest, where you may come across elephants, a variety of tree types, birds, and even local people. After your walk, you should head back to the camp for breakfast and then enter the park for a wildlife drive while carrying your lunch with you. Have a game drive before dinner and spend the night at the African safari camp to increase your chances of seeing lions, bears, hunting dogs, and other wild animals.
Day 4: Departure from Dar es Salaam for the Selous
After breakfast at the camp, take a game drive on the way to Dar es Salaam with your packed lunches, and then drive for five hours to reach your destination, arriving in the late afternoon.
