Kilimanjaro trekking – hike/climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Realize a dream by climbing Tanzania’s highest and most prominent peak.
Mount Kilimanjaro raises nearly 6000 meters above sea level, but it is not necessary to be an expert mountain climber to reach the summit.
To reach the summit of Kilimanjaro, you must be in good physical shape, have high willpower, and a little luck.
All you need is ambition; we’ll take care of the rest.

Africa’s tallest mountain, rising alone from the acacia forests and scrublands on the Kenyan-Tanzanian border, creates an immediately recognizable silhouette.
Although the climb will be challenging, it will be only when you reach the top and look out over the vast savanna below that you realize the simple truth: it was all worth it.

Join us on Mount Kilimanjaro for an unforgettable hiking experience!
Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s “7 Summits” and is known as “the Roof of Africa,” soaring over its surrounding valleys at an incredible elevation of 19,340 feet.

Our goal at Wildland is to take our guests “off the beaten path” so they can get a more complete and exclusive experience of the world’s wilderness destinations.
Before merging with the more familiar Marangu path, we take the Rongai Route, which offers wonderful solitude and exposes our guests to different environments and views of the mountain.
The key challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro is the height, which takes no technical skill.

We’ve designed the perfect 10-day itinerary to ensure optimum acclimatization and a high summit success rate.

Immediately after your Kilimanjaro climb, we give an optional Wildlife Safari and Cultural Tour.
The Maasai, Datoga, and Hadzabe tribes are visited on the Wild Africa Safari, which also includes wildlife safaris in Tanzania’s popular Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro National Parks.

Available routes

Route Machame: Despite being longer and more difficult than the Marangu and Rongai routes, the Machame route has become a common option for trekkers in recent years.
The 40-kilometer trail leads to Kibo’s south face glaciated precipices through cloud forests and moorland areas.
Trekkers descend through the Mweka route, which is a steep yet scenic path through dry mountain desert and lowland forest, as opposed to the Marangu and Rongai routes.

Route Rongai: Rongai is a trail that snakes along the mountain’s north-eastern side near the Kenyan border, providing a unique perspective on Africa’s most popular mountain.
Since the route attracts fewer climbers than Marangu and Machame, the wilderness feels particularly pristine.
Since there are fewer people on the Rongai track, there is a better chance of seeing wildlife than on other trails.
This path also passes through rural areas on its way to Mount Kilimanjaro, enabling trekkers to see Chagga village life.

Path of Marangu: This five-day climb passes through vast grasslands, giant cacti fields, and alpine meadows set against spectacular mountain peaks, making it the most prominent and direct of the Kilimanjaro routes.
It’s also the only route that doesn’t include camping, with trekkers sleeping in huts along the way.
The 35-kilometer ascent is well-kept, and the views from the top are breathtaking.
Since the Marangu route is shorter, it takes less time to acclimate, which affects the trail’s overall success rate.
